“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” – Psalm 46:1 (NIV)
As I was sitting in my secret place this morning reflecting on a recent coaching session I said, “God just continues to show up.” And then I heard, ” I didn’t just show up, I was always there. You just saw me.” 🤕
There are moments in life when we feel like we’re desperately waiting for God to show up. We pray, we cry out, and we look at the clock wondering when the breakthrough will come, when the healing will happen, or when the answer will be revealed.
But here’s the truth that hit my spirit today: God doesn’t show up on time. He is already there. You just saw Him.
God isn’t operating on our timelines. He doesn’t need to “arrive” in our circumstances—because He’s never left. What really happens is that we come into awareness of His presence. We finally recognize the fingerprints of God all over what we thought was a delay. That moment of clarity, of comfort, of solution—that’s when our eyes open. Not to a new arrival, but to an eternal presence.
This changes everything. It means that in your waiting, He is already working. In your wondering, He is already aligning. In your weakness, He is already with you.
So today, instead of asking, “God, when will You show up?” ask, “God, help me see You here.”
Because He is here. He has always been.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being ever-present—even when I can’t see You. Open my eyes to recognize Your presence in every moment. Help me trust that I’m never alone, and that You’re always ahead of me, beside me, and within me.
Amen
